Fuel leak from clutch arm?

Hi folks

Ive recently started a cafe racer project on an 82 CX500 EC

Just fixed the mech seal so no more coolant leak and thought I was looking good.

Got home today to find a puddle of petrol under the bike and fuel leaking from the mechanism where the clutch cable enters the engine cover??? this seams like the most bazaar thing to happen?

Ive checked thoroughly and its definitely coming from there, I cant even think of how the fuel is in that part of the bike????

Any ideas would be most appreciated.

look under the tank and see if it is leaking from the tab on the tank that attaches it to the frame

i have had one that the weld let go and dripped down on to the motor

does your oil reek of gas ? if so you may have a stuck needle but cxphreak on the 500 forum told you how to check that
