Gearbox help

Been Around the Block
Just got the T250 with 73 GT250 engine back from the dealer (whom I wanted to adjust my oiling system, but who did not rebuild the engine). This was the first time trying to ride the bike and I find that I only have 2nd and third gear. It won't go below neutral or above third. The entire engine was rebuilt, new crank, etc. . and the engine builder machine shop said everything in the gear box looked good when they had it apart. It shifted through the gears before I had the engine built. Looking for clues as to what might be wrong.

The machine shop is willing to dig into the problem. Hopefully they will find it as the engine runs beautifully.

gearboxes are delicate and very well engineered to work perfect. they obviously did something wrong.

The shops two-stroke specialist (an old-timer like me who loves these bikes) said that it shifted fine when he went through the gears after the rebuild and the gears and forks looked fine, but as the kick-starter won't return as it should he concedes that something happened inside during the reassembly. He is working on it over this weekend. Say a prayer he finds it because the engine runs like a little beast.
