i found a cb900f SS for sale for pretty decent price i think (2500), was wondering if the bike is worth it or if its easier to find cafe parts for them or should i just look for a cb750 cafe instead?

CB900F is a great bike. Definitely talk him down on the price. He is asking too much. I'd offer around 1500 and no more than 2k IF it's really running right.

What is up with that seat? Also pretty sure those rear shocks don't look right.

Might just be differences in our markets, but that's an $800 bike here, maaaaaybe $1500 on a good day.

Shocks are okay, but the reservoir ought to be facing the back of the bike. That seat is pretty silly. :)

Edit: Just a heads up - that seat does not say to me, "my owner has taken care to regularly perform preventative maintenance on me". Rather, it says, "Help, my oil is full of gasoline!"

And I'm 99% sure pods are gonna mess with the fueling on a DOHC. It won't be running right without the stock airbox or new carbs.

just learned a lot in all of 2 minutes of reading, i really want a cb750 cafe racer, but here in GA its a little harder to find them, as most bikes in general have insane asking prices from people asking way more than worth.

Yeah, adding "cafe racer" to the listing is something alot of sellers do to increase their price. We have a thread here making fun of that.

If you can't get that bike for about half of what he's asking, I'd walk away and feel good about it. It could make a great "cafe" style bike with some work, just not at that price. Like Rich and Sonreir also mentioned, you'll need to go through the bike for safety and running issues no matter what the seller says.

This forum is a great place to learn how

Yea showed my mom that, it's about a bitch to get a title for anything here, hoping to find a nice deal to either work on or find one that's mostly done, I guess will this will be a learning experience altogether for me to work on one of these older bikes
