GN400 cdi question

May be a stupid question.

I'm building a café seat for my gn400. I plan on relocating the cdi box to the underside of my seat so that the seat sits flat against the frame as per usual. Question is: Is the cdi box grounded by the screws connecting to the frame as stock, or is it grounded through one of the wires. Since I'm making the seat out of wood, do I need to add a metal surface to the underside before I mount the box? I would check my schematic but I don't have it near me right now.

Thanks in advance...

The unit is not grounded at all. Grounding (through the black/yellow wire) is what causes it to stop sparking.
