Got the CB coming together....

Been Around the Block
Got some of the odds and ends done . Here's how it's looking so far...

I'm not good at photos but from square 1 it's come a long way . When I got it the thing was barely running . So far my work to date is:
New Dyna ignition
new tires
reupholstered seat
new disc brake and rebuild caliper ( soon )
new paint ( hotrod black/gloss black 2tone w/ handpainted striping )
Ditched the airbox for pods ( looks good but it ran better with modded airbox. Might go back )
And other little odds and ends like the taillight and such . So what y'all think so far ?
Over the winter I plan on MAC Drags and scrapping the MAC Turnouts , heat rap and cutting off the slash cut on the drags , ceramic the exhaust spiggots , new clutch , sprockets , chain , shocks and other stuff .
 
you ditching that mac truck exhaust setup? my first cb750 had one of those ugly ass things and i almost cried with joy when i finally ripped them off

I'm looking to get a set of MAC Drag pipes , cut off the slash cut , and heat wrap. I will most likely throw in some type of baffle to make back pressure but not lose sound . Being heard in the next town over to me is a good thing . But if a vintage Yoshimura pipe floats my way it will certainly be mine . ;D But man , they are getting REALLY hard to find lately.

A gent by the name of Rob McDonnough who is an up and coming pinstriper / tattoo artist in Northern NJ . For the quality of work for the money I am sure no one can beat him .

Looks good man, it's a trip seeing mags on a older looking K. I personally hate mags but this is one of the better looking combos I've seen. Just a FYI your main cosmetic issue I see is the humongous gap between the back wheel and fender. You need some lowering links or short shocks ASAP if you can pull it off a slightly extended swing-arm would look A+ on that bike 2.

Right now he does it at his house by appointment . Very good work . No joke .



As for that fender gap : It's at the normal seat height of a CB750 . 14 1/4 on the back . I plan on lowering it some when I purchase the new shocks . As I stated above : Over the winter . ;)
 
Hey NJ,

What's your main jets and needle settings? You say it's running a little off with the current settings. I might be able to help out, since I just put pods on my bike and have her running strong.
