Greetings from Portland.

Hi. I'm Charlie. I live in Portland, Or. I am working on a '71 CL450 I've named Dumpster-Baby. It came out of a real live barn! i saved it from a couple friends who were planning on using the motor for some sort of racing lawn-mower! That was a couple years ago and i finally have some garage space. i tore it down to bare frame over the holidays and hope to start putting it back together soon. i appreciate all the info I have absorbed thus far and plan to share my progress/frustration. The plan for DB is a cafe racer on the cheap. I have a feeling I will be using quite a few CX500 parts since my neighbors garage is full of them. This is not my first bike project but I admit I'm no expert.

Thanks. My only before pics are stuck inside my dead PC. it wasn't much to look at anyways; no tank, seat, headlight, mufflers, or foot pegs. DB did have a mouse nest under the front sprocket cover! (you can't just buy that!) It was crashed and looks as if someone gave up while trying to replace the headlight. I've picked up a new wiring harness and tank and cleaned the motor up. I'm cleaning up the frame getting it ready to paint. i will post some pics as it goes back together.

Damn mice. My first bike had a mouse skeleton in the airbox. And the PO didn't know it as I took it for a test drive.

If you need any help, don't hesitate to ask! Very knowledgeable group here.
