Ground Resistance

Re: Ground Resistance: Engine In

Thanks fellas.

Here is the results of today's hour of practice. Something a little more my personal style, so it flowed a lot easier.

There is more skill in this thread than can be taught in school. Those engravings are amazing. You become a youtube partner, make some vids on you skills and earn some bucks from that. Seriously, you are one talented individual. I greatly look forward to seeing posts from this thread.

I'm humbled guys. I'm just glad you have followed along this far. I attempted a hobo nickel (dime) for this morning's practice. It is a lot harder to carve on a dime than aluminum. It is only 1/2 done, but I'm too sleepy to keep going at the moment. I still have to texture the background, and add the fine details to the skull. I'm gonna have to make a finer chisel first...

If you feel like passing that dime on to a fellow DTT member, please let me know. That thing is rad!

Re: Ground Resistance: Engine In

What if you made a bunch of these... then the world came under nuclear apocalypse.. THEN people were sifting through the ashes decades from now.. and found your coins.. and founded a new government around them. "This is a remnant of our history.... we must rebuild it..."

YOU BROKE THE FUTURE. IT MUST BE UNDONE. YOU MUST BE DESTROYED. (but mainly because I wanted to be the one to wreck our future)

Re: Ground Resistance: Engine In

If you decide to deface a quarter let me know. I'll even send you a couple bucks for one or two. I'm thinking the skull thing on the the front of one coin, and a zombie type bird altered from the eagle on the back of another. I think they would be cool to put on the fork caps....

I'm awe struck. Bike is amazing right down to every last detail.
Absolutely beautiful work.

Re: Ground Resistance: Engine In

You guys are too much. Matt, why can't we destroy the future together, all civil like?

MBS, give me a bit to tool up and I'll see what I can do. I need to coble together a vise before I hit something that small again.

Troy, humbled as usual sir. I just love that the so many around here get excited about the same things I do.

"are you seriously planning to shoot your motorcycle".... :o

^^This. A truly great idea. I think it would be sweet, and kind of a fun process!

But even if you don't, killer engraving man!

Re: Ground Resistance: Engine In

The kat carving the tsuba is truly talented. I dig the fact that he does it all the original way, just like 500 years ago in Japan. Something to aspire to for sure. I've wondered about the inlay work before, the concave under-surface in the face piece made it all come together.
