Guage Face Replacement

braaaaaaaaaaap
So not wanting to fill Sonreirs selling thread with a bunch of questions I thought I'd place them here for everyone to be able to be read if need be.

So its been shown that we can take apart our gauges and replace the faces on them with vinyl stickers to give them a unique or updated look.

When I took my tachometer apart and looked at it I noticed that its partially transparent so that the light will shine through the back and light up the face on my bike green. It also looks as if here is light that would spill over through the cups and flood the face as well.

My main concern is when you replace the faces on these is the vinyl transparent to mimic the behaviour of the stock guages or does it rely on the surrounding light to illuminate the guages?

Also does anyone perhaps have pictures of a before and after with lighting done? Or perhaps just a picture of after with the new vinyl attached to see how it looks lit up?

Thanks

If your face plate is partially transparent, I definitely expect there to be a dimming effect after adding vinyl. The majority of the ones I've done go over metal (opaque) plates, so no change.

Here's my own gauge on my 360. I've replaced the backlight with an LED, too.

Hmm that isn't too bad. My guage has a bulb on the top and bottom of the guage so that would provide plenty of light.

Appreciated sir. Will report back.
