H100's 4 wheeled toys

H100

what i'm starting with..... stay tuned!
Hi all. I’m Brett, and I’m in Australia.
I’ve just started my first bike project, a 1982 Honda H100A that's getting the cafe treatment.
When I progress a bit further with it, I’ll start a thread and post some pics.

Anyway, I noticed this area for our 4 wheeled projects, so I thought I’d show my current collection.
They are all 1960's Isuzu's, being a 1968 Bellett 1600GT coupe, a 1967 Bellett 4 door sedan, and a 1967 Wasp pick up.

Here they are....
The 1600GT:

They are a very rare car over here. Only 290 were imported in the late 60's, with about 40-50 now left.
They were a true "GT" from the day, with a hi comp 1600cc engine, twin carbs, big cam, nice pipes, 4 speed close ratio box, good disc brake front end, alloy finned drum rear, full instrumentation, the works. They were a pretty quick thing back then, and are highly sort after nowadays.
I completely resto'd it in 2007, taking it down to a bare shell and starting again.
This is what I started with:

Yep, it was a real mess, but we got there!

The sedan:

As you can see, it’s set up as a full on race car, for circuit racing here.
I was brought up around race cars, so it was a given that I’d end up with my own one day.
I originally built it in 1997, then did a complete rebuild in 2004, taking it down to a bare shell and starting again. At that time, it had a lot of it’s current modifications done, and now it really doesn’t have much standard Bellett stuff left.
It runs a 2000cc Isuzu race engine, 5 speed close ratio box, locker diff, many hours of suspension work, 4 wheel discs with 4 spot brakes, 8 point roll cage…. The list goes on and on!
It does pretty well for itself on the track, but lacks a bit of horsepower to the big engined cars. It makes up for a lot of this under brakes and around the corners, but some more power is always a good thing!
Here’s a pic from the 2004 rebuild:

The Wasp:

The rarest car in my collection. Only 122 were imported to Australia, with about 15 or so left.
I resto’d it in 1994, adding a 2000cc twin cam engine, 5 speed box, discs brakes, etc.
It was completely stripped down, including removing the body from the chassis, and all re-done.
Here’s how it was when I found it:

Again, real mess. Probably worse than the GT was, but it was worth the headaches in the end.

Hope you all enjoyed my little collection. There are some other rare and nice cars in my family, including one that my wife owns, so I'll get around to posting them some day too.
Cheers.
Brett.

Wow Brett! Those are some great rides! We never get to see anything like that here in the states. That truck is a beaut! Were they all flatbeds, or can you get a standard be for it?

thanks von! glad you like mate.
they came as either a cab-chassis that you then had to make or buy a tray for (like mine was originally), or as a proper style-side pick up tub.
approximate numbers i can find say that the cab-chassis version was more popular, with around 2 to 1 being like that.
cheers.

Those are all very cool, but that 1600GT is sweet! I've never even heard of such a thing, but it reminds me a bit of a first generation Celica which is one of my favorite cars.

Nice work on the restos, I wish my Ranchero looked half as good as any of those.

beautiful rides! the US lacks great cars like the 1600gt...

love it all, especially that flatbed... bravo man! you have great taste.
