I make things.
Okay Kiddos! It's been 2 years since I gradumatated from school and left behind all those nice expensive facilities, I was a sculpture major, doing a lot in metal and since then I couldn't afford the tools so I started doing fiberglass, which I found to be pretty good to work with and allowed me to do just about anything I wanted.... BUT!!!! now that I sold the bike to finance building two more, and a few tools to boot, I now have an ENGLISH WHEEL and a MILLER M*@(&F&@*^^G TIG welder!!! So I'm back in the groove, and I'll be doing some aluminum tanks, fenders, maybe some seats, even though I like the glass ones, and probably some oil tanks, etc...... keep an eye out, I'm STOKED!!

congrats ;D

now are you going to make some clubman bars and clip ons ?

I thought about the clubmans, but honestly, you can get a decent pair for $25, and with materials, I really can't touch that, but clipons I had thought about, probably do the whole thing in stainless so A: I don't have to chrome them, and B: they will NEVER EVER rust :)

It's easy enough to find a good set of clip ons (telefix, etc) for under $100.

How about things like tricked out clock mounts and stuff like that.

cool, maybe cheap ish clip ons, aka sub $100 ?

had some time to play with some scrap aluminum I had today, it's 16ga, so about 1/16th inch, screwed around with it on the english wheel then polished up half of it, i'm starting to drool thinking about making a whole tank!!! gotta grab some sheet aluminum though, about $3.50 sq' isn't bad at all though... did some tig weld beads on the other side, but you can't see em, all in all, I'm definitely shaking my rust off!

clock mounts would be easy!!

I wish sombody would build a decent tank with a built in oil tank or an oil tank that might fit under a seat. I want to hide my electrics and my oiltank on my 750F.

Completely agree, would like to do the same. Please let me know if you can create something.

Not that it can't be done, but how would you make a clock mount or clipons out of sheetmetal?

I wouldn't do the clipons out of sheetmetal, I'd buy 7/8" stainless and machine the rest... yeah, i have a mill and lathe :)

and clock mounts are flat plate anyway
