Hello everyone! I have been lurkin on the site for quite some time now and finally am getting around to creating an account. Anyway I'm 27 and live in the Windy City and I picked up a 1978 Suzuki GS 750 for 250$!!!! It really is in rough shape but it runs so I have high hopes for this bike. Going for a sporty brat/bob look il post a few pics later on

welcome... You Chicago proper or burbs? (I am in the North Burbs)

Welcome. That 750 is a neat bike, on my to ride list. Love the dual exhaust on that.
I do like the exhaust as well unfortunately rust has made the exhaust its bitch so I cleaned them up rattle caned them and wrapped them. To replace this exhaust is going to be expensive but it needs to happen soon

I've also already pulled apart most of the bike. There isn't much to save do to neglect. It's all been cleaning and re-sealing at this point. I did chop off the rear end up to the shocks and I'm gonna cap the frame off. Definitely love the exposed tire look hopefully it doesn't fling too much debris up from the road especially in the wet.

In the meantime here is my yami, great bike owned it for 4 years now. I do love sport bike but unfortunately the majority of the sport bike community are a bit reckless and for the lack of better description not very bright. many of the people riding sport bikes have no regard for other people on the road or the law and feel invincible. For this very reason I prefer to ride solo. Maybe one day I'll have a good crew to run with. ???

welcome Guzzi !
Hello ichiban!!!! I have seen and enjoyed many of your videos! I had no idea you were Chicago based as well just saw you were at a car event in Skokie from the post you created

Hey! Welcome! If someone hasn't already suggested, be sure to check out http://www.thegsresources.com. Tons of great knowledge on those old GS bikes. Between here and there I seem to find what I need. I'm on an 81 GS550 myself and I don't see a ton of Suzuki's pop up, so its great to see another. Excited to see what you do with yours. Any plans for it yet?
