Hey all. Another new guy, here. Living in Pittsburgh, PA. I can thank the guitarist in my band for the obsession with building a cafe bike.......Well.....him AND Mike Seate and the folks at the Cafe Racer TV show, that is.
Just picked up an 82 Yamaha Xj650 Maxim a few weeks ago. It was part way to becoming a bobber when I got it, but now I am slowly transforming it into a cafe. I know that I have my work cut out for me, as this IS a cruiser style bike, automatically making it more of a candidate for a bobber build, but that's okay. I like challenges. Just got the furnace in my detached garage back up and running, so I don't freeze my ass off in these Pittsburgh winters, and am looking forward to working on her and getting her on the road in the spring.

Welcome to DTT man! Where is Pitt are you located? Theres a pretty good crew of us spread out around the city and north in Beaver Co. We usually try to get together regularly for wrenching, beers, and bullshitting. Check out the Pennsylvania section, and sign in there as well. Also, if ya ever need a hand just shout. Im sure youll find a few guys willing to throw in. (as long as youre buying the beer... ha ha ha) Also, lets see the bike!
