Been lurking on this forum ever since I got the urge to get a cafe bike project going. My name is Cory, 20 years young (until this saturday 8/8/15) Anything with two wheels grabs my attention. New, fast, slow or old, don't matter. Started racing motocross when I was 5, injures took me out of racing when I was 17. Got a stable job (machine operator) blah blah. BUT!!! Finally moving into a place with a good size garage so I can embark on this build. I am currently looking to pick up a 1978 Honda cb750 supersport. In a somewhat decent condition. It was used at a local airport as a emergency bike. Hasn't ran in some time. 1988 to be exact.

I have my motorcycle licenses. I sold my R6 because it really wasn't my cup of tea. I got no satisfaction owning it, besides just riding it to work. The thought of having something I built with my hands and learning along the way is right up my ally. I droll over Dustin Kotts bikes everyday, he's getting better and better with each and every build which is exciting. Hopefully I can pull off something half as good as him. I am mechanically inclined for the most part, but if I can't get past a problem I have some good resources around me for help. Looking forward to joining and learning from this community that shares a similar passion as I do. Thank you!!

(Still on the fence with buying this bike. I know it has a lot of work to be done, but my biggest concern is will this bike work with my vision into turning it into a 70's cafe bike. Giving myself a week to decide.)

I don't live in one. But being in Kern County, there's a jail every 10 miles where half the county's population lives...

Oh got it. No I haven't bought the bike yet! I took pictures of it when I went to go look at it in the hood side of town. Most likely going to pick it up this Saturday if I can't find anything else

Welcome. I personally love the tank shape of the super sports. Have a 76 myself and I think they are great looking cafe bikes. I'd say go for it!

Yeah Son!
