Hello from Memphis TN with a '72 cb350f

Thrasher

Hello everyone, I'm Chris! I Just moved down from Cincinnati last month for a job here in Memphis. I picked up my 1972 Honda cb350f for $700 off a guy on craigslist back there. As I pulled up to check it over and buy it I saw another man all bloodied up with a cut nose and good cherry on his forehead. He said he'd ridden before when he asked the owner to test ride it. He made it 10 feet into the neighbors mailbox, sidewalk and yard. So the master cylinder was scratched and the handlebars bent but she ran strong still with only 6,800 miles so I pulled the trigger. I didn't own a car at the time so I daily rode the bike from February until early April to get to work and around Cincinnati. Rain, snow, hail, below 0 temps, we've seen it all together and its been a beast so I named it Thrasher!

I painted and airbrushed the tank, and then ruined it by spilling gas on it a bit much. But I'm not happy with the color scheme anymore and I've got a lot more ideas to put into action on this bike. I rode it 10 hours down to Memphis from Cincy early April, went back up, got the rest of my stuff and here I am!

In the short term my plans are the usual. Clubmans, rearsets, seat, wiring tuck, stretched swing arm 2 inches, lowered, and just a very cool good looking cafe bike. I just put a 120mm tire on the rear. I'm also looking into putting a turbo on the 350f (of course a built one) but have not heard of this being done before or if these motors have the aftermarket parts that can handle the pressure.

Enough talk for now, here it is!

I've been trolling for a few days (got pneumonia) and this looks like a very knowledgeable forum with some friendly people on it so I'm looking forward to being a part of it all!

good find. Hope you are staying dry.

Thanks!
We've been alright but some of my friends weren't as lucky. Its a mess around here but everyone really pitches in to help each other out. I think downtown lost a street or two for a while there. I moved down here during the best time ::) . Seven days of rain and tons of tornadoes with sirens every day. Its been clear and hot the last week though so hopefully it will all be behind us soon.

We somehow dodged all the Tornados here in Alabama. We feel a little guilty. Never even lost power but 5 miles west and east from us was hit hard.

Welcome to the Dirty South! You are going to love cruzin' at night through the summer.
