Hello everyone!
I am very excited to join this forum and contribute to the records. Picked up my first motorcycle a week ago and have already reviewed this forum up and down. Grabbed a 1982 GL500 from craigslist, actually turns out he is a member here and has previously posted on the bike. It is currently undergoing some maintenance, getting to know the bike and getting it ready for the road.
As for now:
the exhaust is out for gloss black powder coating- headers are to be exhaust wrapped (wrap in transit)
new tank is in transit
seat has been quoted for some fresh, double stitched brown leather
paint options are being reviewed. Will most likely go with a dark matte grey with gloss black stripe.
Fork seal rebuild has been scheduled
progressive springs are awaiting install
new clutch cable and head bearings are awaiting install
considering Posh grips--
So those are the fun things, lots of other repairs and work are currently being planned as well...
If there is anyone in the Phoenix area that would like to make some cold cash getting this guy rolling that would be nice!
I will create a build thread once I get some progress made. Once again, glad to be on the forum and look forward to interacting with you all.
Cheers!
