help! 1976 cb200

so i just turned on my bike for the spring, turned on fine, but randomly i had the bike in neutral and started rolling it backward to park it and out of nowhere the engine started to rev on its own...i wasnt holding the throttle or anything. any ideas?

Did you change the bars? Cable routing could be binding.

no. i realized it only happens when i point my tire left and roll backwards.

Then it is almost certainly a pinched throttle cable.

Or else you've got a bent mentnor in your reverse gear.

Bent mentnor? It's tricky, because you could easily put a hole in the defribulator. Trick is to use a common wood cooking spoon, although it doesn't suggest that in the manual.

you need to check your throttle cable, see that it's routed properly, the manual might give info on that
