Help lacing my wheel

I'm building a 72 honda cb450, it currently has a 16 inch rear wheel. I've found an 18 inch wheel, unfortunately I don't know how to lace the wheel. Any help or diagrams for doing this would be appreciated.

Thanks

There are "inside" spokes and "outside" spokes - which are determined by the degree of the bend at the hub. Lace the inside spokes first (yes, all of them) then the outside spokes. Take a LOT of pics of your current wheel since the pattern will be the same. And if you place a nipple into the wheel and press it, it will point to the corresponding hole in the hub.

There are many threads on this subject if you search

Here are two good ones: http://www.sohc4.net/index.php/wheelrebuild/

Make sure you buy a rim with the same number of spokes. A stock CB450 has 40 spokes unlike most other Hondas old Japanese bikes that have 36. Also, determine if it's the stock hub.

Thanks for all the help, since yesterday I have done some further searching on the site and have found a few links to help out.

when i was doing this...i tried a few times. got frustrated almost called it and paid the money for someone else to do it...then i found this link http://www.easterndirt.com/?p=385
very good write up when combined with all the lacing instructions on the forums... I knows its dirtbike but its the same concept. I printed that out and this
( http://www.dotheton.com/forum/index.php?topic=24122.0 ) out and together they seemed to give me enough info to get my wheels laced. I did end up paying a local shop (bent lever in vancouver) to tru them since it was not much more to pay for truing and the mounting and balancing. Good luck!

Lacing your own wheel is definitely a rite of passage. First one I did took me almost two hours. It's pretty quick once you get the hang of it though.
