As the title says I'm from the KW area and of course I speak Cafe'. My rides include an 80' GS 1100et and a Cafe' 77 750F (in process). I spend my days painting motorcycles and when time permits I spin a few wrenches on my own bikes. I have been riding for the better part of 40 years on everything from Hondas to BMW's and even several Harleys'. Over the years I have raced on ice, dirt, strips, and the occassional back road. At the present time I am also a member of the GS Resource Group.
I will be keeping an eye open for any questions concerning paint or polishing and will do my best to chime in at the appropriate times.
Speed safely. Coop.

Welcome to DTT, advice on paint and prep work is allways welcome ;D and of course Photos....

Promise to have pics up as soon as the old girl gets put back to being something worth taking a picture of. As for the rattle can paint I feel that it is better to ride a bike with a ten dollar paint job than to let it sit waiting for a thousand dollar paint job.

Finally have the time for pics. I guess daily rider should be first, I've had this one out and about for six years now and it has held my interest longer than any bike I've ever owned. It is internally stock with the basic upgrade of Jets, ignition, exhaust and of course a K&N in the box. The bike still pulls over 100hp on the dyno and tops 250kph. I can't even guess how many hours of polishing went into this project, there are 44 polished fasteners on the carbs alone.

When I started looking for a 750 I knew it had to be an "F" and as luck would have it I managed a package, both a 77 and a 78. Being as the 77 was in nicer shape I sold the 78. I will be leaving the engine close to stock and so far I am just cutting off the fat. Hope to have it totally finished for spring.

Then of course we all have the dream bike. Was over talking about some maching work with the owner, and he still won't entertain the idea of selling it. Although he thinks he can lay his hands on a frame. Heres hoping.
