Just thought I'd introduce myself. I bought my first bike last August and have totally fell in love with riding. I bought a Bonneville T100 and have done all the mods I'm willing to do on a financed bike. 
I am currently in the market for something older to take apart and turn into a cafe racer. I've been looking at Honda CB/CMs and Yamaha XS for starters, but I'd love some advice on the subject. I've been told that the older Brit bikes are temperamental, so I'd like to go with something that will be fun and stay together enough to be fun to ride too. I, too, am addicted to watching the Cafe Racer TV show and seeing what the great shops are doing with their older bikes.
