Hidden Battery Packs

Hi All:

I got a lot of request for my hidden battery packs, so I have a set to sell. These hide between the frame rails (under the seat) of most bikes and give the appearence of not having batteries at all. These can only be used for kick only bikes running LED side markers. Actually, lighting should be kept to a minimum.

I've had great success on both thte CL350 and the CB360 I built. Of course, I only run a headlight and an LED taillight. These battery packs and this design have never let me down.

Included are three individual batteries worth .8AMPs each. Wire them together to get 2.4 amps. I can do this for you, but you'll likely need to do your own positioning. Here they are in my CL350 (only two pictured; this set comes with three).

I'm selling the battery packs for $40 + shipping. These retail for $20 each [Whoops, I just checked. these are $26 each] , so you're saving $38. I got these for my RD400 project, but will now just run a regular battery. PM me if interested.

Chris, Very cool set up. I really appreciate the information. I'm real short on funds right now or I'd buy them in a heart beat. Someone is going to get a good deal. -Troy
 
I was going to just run a normal battery because of a ballooning budget, but for 40$... Ill take them as long as shipping isnt like 30$. My zip is 60202

twist the red wires together, then solder them. Then twist the black wires together, then solder them. Easy as that.

I'm going to be running a headlight, tail light, maybe a neutral idiot light, kick only, and some of these small batteries. High/low will be a toggle switch in the headlight bucket. Do you think two or three of these would work on a cb350? I'm not sure if i'll have a LED tail light, would it matter too much?

Also the neutral light is for my wife so she doesn't kill herself when she rides it.
 
You need three batteries minimum. I ran the tailight on my CL350 for a while on a regular light. When I pulled the brakes, the headlight would dim very slightly. I switched to a LED and never had that problem again.

Ah, finally found this thread. So, I was putting the carbs back on the CL today and realized that the pod filters I bought will not fit with the stock battery housing. This will be a good excuse for me to order these and clean up the bike some more.

I'm running a new halogen headlamp, 4 small turns, and a very small 2" tail. Kick only. Based on that info, do I need to order 2 or 3? I have zero electrical knowledge, that stuff intimidates me. Also, how do you mount those warlocks? Thanks!
 
Based in that very rough info, you need a minimum of three batteries. Honestly, four might do the trick. If you run an LED in the tailight and the side blinkers, three *should* be ok. I'd run all LEDs.

Go through the online process at Advanced battery and let me know much the total is. I might be able to save you a few dollars.

I run 2 2.3 ah batteries from batteries plus. Each ar about the size of a pack of smokes. You gotta realize that these style of batteries rated by the Ah(amp hour) do not really carry an Amp rating. A battery rated @ 1ah will go dead in 1 hour when 1 amp is drawn from it for that hour. I run a 6" head light(bulb type) and a tail light(1 1157) kick only. And one 2.3Ah battery was not enough @ high rpm. Especially with the lights on.

You're right, but you can adapt those terminals. I'm running that same 7ah battery with a starter but have hooked up these copper lug terminals. The screw side tightens down on the little spade batt terminals then use the standard batt wires on the other end with nut and bolt. These things can be found at any local hardware store...
 
Chris, can you tell me what battery mysta2 is using? I found this thread, but didn't find any specifics:

I've got an idea for building my own mount that would push the regular battery up higher and farther back, hiding it a little better and getting it out of the way of the pods. But I'm still trying to figure out the best option.

I have a 1975 CB125S that i am stripping down. its a 6V system. I am not running blinkers, or even gauges for that matter, just a standard headlight and most likely small LED taillight. Its kick only.
