Hiding wires with clipons

I'm replacing the standard bars on my CB550 for clipons. I am reusing the current controls in the short term and the wires are bulky and thread through the bars.

Job 1 is disconnecting them in a way that means I can unthread them and still allow me to get them back together and working.

Job 2, how on earth do I keep them looking neat and unobstrusive?

what have others down with keep clean lines with clipons?

Well if you have the kind that I've got (no passage all the way through) you have to drop the wires out the bottom:





If you don't want to cut the bars you have to cut a slot in the side casing of the controls and run the wires out there... and use zip ties. I've seen that done quite a lot.
