I wish i had a 4 jaw.......but there has to be a way to center this on a pulley and 3 jaw that.....or maybe something easier?

Good idea finding and lining up 2 centers is proving to be difficult

Yep. Get a piece of roundstock, turn down a flange to chuck on, and drill four holes to bolt the part to.

Man i thought i had it reverse engineered but i dont have studs long enough that skinny ....and making 4 of them is a lot of work on the lathe..... Thanks for the ideas!

What are you trying to do?
If you want to skim gasket surface, bolt it to a block of wood through plug hole, (carve it a bit so fins don't get damaged and it has some shape to 'match' head)
Bolt head to face plate, turn wood circular so it can be held in 3 jaw.
As long as you don't try to take a heavy cut it will be fine

My goal with this is to open up the inside from 39mm gasket area to 47 mm so i can run the head on my Chinese motor kit without the piston hitting ...it already bolts right up but the piston hits because its meant for 39 mm so the head is flat where it needs to be round....i've put this aside i may need to shave the top of the head flat to make sure its centered and flat before i turn it. Just picked up 2 different dial indicators to help me triple check everything before hand
