Identifying piston rings

I'm ready to drop my budget pistons into my budget bores. This an 836 '75 CB 750F btw. This kit came with no instructions whatsoever so I'm winging it here. In the attached pic, which would strike you as the top ring and why?The one with the chrome outer edge seems like it might have a small chamfer on it. One side more drastic than the other. On that one which side would be up between the bigger and smaller chamfer? The black ring seems to be dead square.

Shoot, I just read something on which ring goes where and why and I am now drawing a blank. If I remember where I read it I'll link it. It was in a honda manual I am sure. Check your manual, I think if Clymer or Honda factory there it s spot where they talk about ring clearance and which ring is top and bottom and show the 2 profiles....

The only diagram I have concerning ring profile and order is this one, but its for a CB350. Its out of the manual so I'd say the 750 one is as well. Also, check this post out on HondaTwins.net, the rings look very much like yours: http://www.hondatwins.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=65533#p65533

usually the chrome goes on top, make sure they go on right side up too, there should be a letter stamped on one side, make sure that is facing up

on my pistons for a 350, said that the grey ring is the compression one, and goes on top, not sure on your model, but give the manufacturer a call , he should know for sure
