Battery came in today so I gave adjusting my ignition timing a go. It's a 72 CL350
The problem so far is that I can't get the test light to go out when adjusting the left point.
My theories behind this so far are
1) Wiring is backwards. My wire coming from the left point is yellow and the wire coming from my left coil is blue. Right point is blue and right coil is yellow.
So I have it wired the way it makes sense in my head (could very easily be very wrong). I ignored the colors and went left point (yellow) to left coil (blue).. Right point (blue) to right coil (yellow). Then the blue condenser wire to the blue coil and yellow condenser to yellow coil. Otherwise, the left point wire would lead to the right coil which seams wrong to me.
Do I have this backwards or wrong?
2) I didn't set the gap for the left point before starting this process.
3)spark advancer is 180* out of whack
I printed out a word document on how to set the timing from Honda Twins and am going to read it over and bring that with me when I try again.
Any help or ideas?
