thx for all the replies and help guys....i found today that my carb side cam wasnt timed properly, so i just got done adjusting it.... put the cam chain back on (after going through hell) and am about to readjust the valves.

So you spun the engine over many times trying to get the thing to run.... with an improperly timed intake cam. How FAR OFF was it? It doesn't take much to have a valve get munched by a piston. 450 valve stems are pretty thin and bend easily.

it was pretty far off... i may have a bent valve but im trying to avoid tearing down the engine lol. so im trying everything else assuming the valve is good. If i dont get it running then ill tear it down for the bent valve.

tried adjusting the valves today and something is off.. i think i timed the cam wrong.....sigh
