jet size for cb360 with stacks or pods

so im ripping apart the cb360 this winter to do another build up. this time i was planning on going alittle further with her as far as stripping it down to the essentials. i wanted to go with velocity stacks but i hear they are really hard to tune. i would also consider going with just pod filters. just wanted to see what peoples experience was with them and if anyone could give me advice to what size jets to run for either the stacks or the pods i would forever be grateful. thanks again to everyone for all the help over the last year.

pics of the beast from last years build for reference:

I've never worked on a cb360, so I can't be specific.
But take some time and read this thread and you'll be set and rejetted in no time.

Big thanks to boingk!

good luck!

That article is a waste of time for CB360 (or any Kei-Hin 3 jet carb)
You can get bike running, but, not running right
It just depends how much power loss and/or flat spots your prepared to put up with.
Use search function for CB360 carbs and related terms for 360 jetting
Jetting will be anywhere from 105 to 125, depending on exhaust, type of pod and altitude.
You also need either new air corrector jets or modified carb if air jets are pressed in

Fit a fork brace when you re-build it.

+1 on the fork brace.

My 350 has been bored out to 67MM so I'm running close to the same displacement as you. I have the stock carbs with stock jetting and it runs pretty damn good with velocity stacks and a 2-1 with a racing baffle. Could use a bit more juice around 9000 or so but it rips right up to that. I just didn't feel like messing with it this year. I'll probably go up a size on the secondary main in the spring and see if it clears that up. No bluing on the pipes and the plugs read pretty good so I'm close. In all of my screwing around with Mikunis and such, this has been the best, most reliable set up yet.

350 and 360 carbs are similar but not the same.
360 is more critical on jetting, particularly mid-range when jetted for top end

so from what i have read on the links. (thank you crazypj) i have a baffled 2 into 1 exhaust and with the pods, or possibly the stacks i was going to go with a 105 primary jet. im not a crazy racer with this bike i just ride it around town. i am thinking though it still might be to lean and like crazypj said without changing the air collectors it will never be perfect but im thinking it will be ok for the limited riding i do on this bike. what do you think?

It should be OK as long as you don't go over 7K or so (it will probably lean miss-fire with 105 secondary mains at higher rpm)

If it miss-fires/pops and bangs, you'll know why.
If it needs jetting fo top end the mid range will be rich

i dont usually go above 9k at the most and not very often. think i will be ok?

I don't know. If you're popping you need to go up. I loose a little power at the top but there's no back firing or popping. I'm almost on. You sound a little further out. It'll take you a fist full of jets and an afternoon of smelling like gasoline to sort it all out. Trust me, it's worth it.

or................................................... you could send the carbs to me and I'll sort them out for your spec exhaust ;D

(I only do 360 carbs, don't have any dyno run print outs of CB350 :o )

how the heck can the 360 rev over 7K???I'm lucky to get it to 7K, and 8K it sputters like crazy, it just won't go.

So I removed the air box, but left the stock air filters with the side covers back on so it looks stock.

Now I just have to ride it and figure out what's next.

I'm still up in the air on how much I want to do. I thought about leaving it stock, and it just keeps escalating.

Handlebars, lights, pipe wrap, now I'm thinking about pod filters, bu will it really run great, or it it just a tiny increase.

If I can only get a good increase by doing pod filters, and newer smaller mufflers, and jetting, I'll do it, but if the gain is not felt, I'm not gonna spend that much time on that part of the bike. I still need to get the side covers off, and painted., then the wheels upgraded to wider rims, then new rubber.

Where to go next, it never stops does it.

Popssss, contact Trek97 about pods on 360, he's now the 'sorcerer's apprentice' ;D
You right, there's always something else you REALLY NEED
Some people sell and start over, some just keep modifying and developing their bikes until it has little resemblance to what the factory put out ;)

After I got done with my 550, I got this 360, even though I still have a KZ650 on the blocks.

tinkering never ends, but I love it.

Thanks for the contact, I'll get a hold of him.
