Jetting Issues

Simplicity is bliss
Hey everyone, I'm wrapping up my first build which is a 72 CL350 and I'm having some power issues. Here's a list of what was done and tried so far:

Full top end rebuild including - new over bored pistons and rings from Bor-Tech, New 123-20 Camshaft from Megacycle, and KA Slipper.
I'm running the stock pipes but cut off at the ends with a can opener baffle in them
Mikuni vm32 carbs with pods "but I'd like to end up with velocity stacks"
Idle jet is at 45
Main jets I've tried: 185, 200, 260, 400

The bike idles great and takes off great, but at about half throttle it sputters like it's not getting fuel.
Any advice would be sweet thanks!

Just in case, I went back to a 200 main jet and leaned out the needle and it is much better but still not quite there. Back to tinkering.

Seems like I'm not getting enough fuel once the throttle gets to the main jets. I could be wrong abou that though... I'm learning this as I go for sure.

Cool. The needle is more of a fine adjustment tool. smooths out flat spots etc... Imo opinion your not at the spot to be making that adjustment yet. Get your jet dialed 1st, then move the needle up or down.
