Kawasakis into cafe racers parts?

Hi there, been a lurker on the site for a while, and was finally able to save some money to get a KZ to start a little project myself. My biggest questions now comes down to choosing a bike, so i was hoping that the almighty message board might have some input on the decision. Between all the KZs in the 70-80s, which of the bikes have the most replacement parts on the market? because I dont want to purchase a KZ440 and only to find out that theres barely any existing parts for it. Thanks.

Bit of a vague question.

If you're talking hot-up engine parts, then the Z1 / KZ1000's will probably have the most aftermarket goodies. KZ440 will probably have nothing.

If you're talking bolt on seats and that kinda stuff then it will probably be the same as any other bike (IE: custom DIY / make it fit)

yeah i realized that it was a bit too general. My options given to me is a Kawasaki KZ 440LTD , KZ750 and also a honda CB350. I've done some reading on them and I originally wanted to go for the KZ750, but it seems that the kz750 has a bit of a problem with vibrations at higher speed and generally didnt carry a good rep.

Also this is my first cafe racer project and there seem to be more information out there about the KZ440 and the CB350 compared to the kz750. But speed is a big problem for me as the cb and the kz440 didnt seem to be able to go pass 90.

So my question is, for the sake of overall performance, which of these bikes can I find parts(such as carbs) for to replace the easiest.

Thank you.

I have a KZ750 twin, I haven't heard much negative stuff about them. More the opposite, not a speed demon machine but otherwise solid and plenty of parts. That would include carb swaps to VM34's etc...

It's a twin, pretty much all twins vibrate more than inline four's to some degree. If you have links/references to the negatives, I'd be open to check it out.

Of the three you posted, I'd choose either the 750, or the CB350.

I don't know your skill set. So, bolt on parts availability would be the highest for those two, the CB a bit more so. If you're looking to bolt together a bike, more than build it, you can more or less buy a kit, rearsets, seat, fairing, and have a pretty good looking bike.

For the KZ series anything but the 4xx series. The 650, 750 and the 1000 are still around and lots of places stock parts. Z1 Enterprises is a good example of this.

What KZ750 are we talking about - 4 cyl or twin?

The 4 cylinder 750 is a pretty good bike (as long as it's not an LTD) .

I can't really think of a better bike for a first build than a cb350 to be honest.
Yeah cookie cutter bla bla bla, but for parts availability, available knowledge, and ease of work they can't be beat.
