Kickstart Spring CB100

Hi

Is it possible to replace the kickstart spring on a CB100 without removing the engine and cracking the case?
Have read mixed reports and hope some one can clarify for me.

Pretty sure you're going to have to crack it open. What year is the bike?

Well I can officially answer my own question. Yes you need to crack open the case.
