Kinky Pipe!

Hey guys,

Just want a sanity check if anyone can help me... might be a silly question but do you think this kink in the brake line between my MC and res is going to be a problem - there's no fluid in it right now - it's brand new.

I reckon the fluid will expand it and once bleed it should be ok but I just wanted a second/third opinion.

...and yes i know it needs a clamp - just mocked up right now...

well it is jut the res so it maybe ok
or you could put a spring inside it

2)It won't change because fluid is inside it.
3)why not just make it properly so it does not have the kink?
4)spring inside is not a bad idea, but there should be a way not to need it.

3) Yeah - didn't think of that - problem is to do it means looping the tube around the bars and it just looks bad..I know - I know .. form vs function.. I get it, I just want both.

I'm thinking I might just put a nut under the bracket, that should raise the cylinder up and smooth out the angle... I'll give it a shot.. now where to find a black M10 1.25 nut... hmm

Mount your bracket so the res is on the "outside" of the bars, then the tube will be going down and towards your triples, instead of over/under your bar, then towards the triples?

On the reservoir tube, the fluid is not under pressure. Gravity feed only...

yeah - It's an option but the way the bike is set-up at the front it just looks better behind...plus the tube would have to make a weird 90o turn, I'll post some pics when I add the nut and see what you guys think...

10mm long m10 bolt is rare because nothing uses it, too short, you may try looking for a "drain plug" instead but at 10mm long it is not something that is used as a bolt

if it was me I would make an threaded insert to reduce to m6 you could just cut off and thread a banjo bolt or sum shit

Well yes, I was all set for some magiverism - thought about reducing it, sawing off a bolt etc but miraculously I found one at Fastenal...
