Lacing new hub into wheel for disk brake

I like the looks and feel of a disk rotor better than drum brakes on the CB350. I have no experience with laced wheels, so I just wondered if it's possible to lace a dirt bike hub with a brake rotor into a CB350 wheel?

I would assume the axle would require new spacers for the hub, but do I need to count the openings for the lacing to thread into or anything or would any disk rotor hub do the trick?

generally as long as the spoke number is the same, you can do it, there are some problems if the hub is wide, as the spokes can start to flex getting around the hub lip. your biggest challenge might be in finding spokes that fit, buchanans is expensive, but they've got great cross referencing and can match a custom length to your hub-rim setup

you might also want to think about where/what your caliper is going to attach to.

mounting a caliper to the stock 350 forks is a PITA and probably not a good idea.

get a 35mm front end off of a cb450, 750, or any other bike from the same time period. youll have better performance along with half the work done for you. throw in a set of allballs bearings, and your good as gold.

Basically, NO.
they are all too wide to fit forks
Just get CB360G, late 350, 350f or 400f wheel and caliper, it should all bolt straight in. (may need spacer changes)
There is no need to have the extra weight of 450 forks., particularly as they are no better than stock 33mm for 'normal'use
The only ones I would look for would be Suzuki GS500 (37mm) but they go for silly money (which is why I have Katana 41mm ones)

the 450 forks arent that much heavier then the 350s, and the truth is that youll probably end up spending a similar amount on the 350/400f wheel as you would on the 450 front end.

then again, the 350/400f is much easier to install seeing as you dont have to pull the entire front end. but they are harder to come across...


if you look around you can source an entire 450 front end for around 50-100 dollars or so.
