Leaking Peacock - fuel line modified.

JonnyLong

THIS, is what god looks like.
It's not the gas tank leaking it is the peacock leaking on my tank. I looks like there used to be 2 fuel lines off of this peacock but someone put some plumers putty over one and just ran a y in the gasline after the fuel filter. When I took the carbs off for cleaning yesterday I noticed this.

Would this create a problem with the fuel delivery? ???

Pics soon...

Yes. If the carbs were each fed by their own line, and now they have to share one, its choking them.

New Peacock. new lines new fuel filters and some fule line claps will have to be ordered then... unless i can get the putty off without f*&^ing the peacock up ;D

Might order on today just to be safe..

I'm guessing it is probably the vacuum line and the mod was done to make the tank gravity feed. Do you have a capped port on one of the intakes?

capped port on the carb intake... can you send me a pic?

Is it possible to just get a double line peacock like this one used to be and run lines from the peacock through seperate filters and down to the carbs?

If you're not opposed to buying a new petcock why not CAREFULLY use a drill to drill out the putty? Then you can use a small round file to clean out the rest.

Worst case is you'll buy a new petcock that were going to buy anyway and best case is you wont have to.

You can do it... c'mon man.

There is a line running to the petcock on the other intake.

I think he's a 360 but same deal, there's a bunch of used ones on eBay. I'm surprised the plumbers putty held out against the gas. ???

wow, i didn't know dtt members had so much knowledge about peacocks!

(had to say it ;D )

My intake book does not have ports on them... so they are not capped. I am going to just buy a single spout 19mm peacock and see what happends. If she doesnt work i'll save it for the next project.

Leave the line split like it is.... I guess.

:: What I was asking is if I had a peacock that had 2 gas outtlets and I just ran individual lines... like the way it is now. BUT 2 lines and no Y spliter..

What bike is it first off? And sorry man but its PETCOCK. If the original PETCOCK has 2 feed lines, you need two feed lines, or a much larger single feed line. Get the stock PETCOCK or fix yours and you should be ok.

What I would like to do:

I am looking to see if anyone has a petcock that is 19mm and has 2 gaslines out of it or can link me.

Or should I just keep it the way it is .... but, replace the petcock with one that has a bigger gas outlet and no vacume line?

Would this work... anyone got a fix on a PETCOCK :) With dual gas ports on it or will i have to run a T in the line like it is currently?
