Light Modifications on CB200 -- Input Welcome

Wanted to replace the stock ignition with a Bore Tech, put these mufflers on the stock headers- http://www.dimecitycycles.com/vintage-cafe-racer-caferacer-bobber-brat-chopper-custom-motorcycle-exhaust-parts-12-inch-shorty-muffler-80-03310-sbpc.html
I also was thinking about pulling some velocity stacks out of a CB750 air box.
Was hoping to get some input on what the Jedi Masters would think what type of complimentary mods I would have to make to accommodate the mods listed above, i.e. jetting, etc. I am running the stock 18mm carbs atm, they are rebuilt and clean. Thanks for any input/advice. Cheers!

Those "mufflers" don't do much. If you decide to use them, put a wrapped baffle in the exhaust pipe.

It will make the carbs harder to tune without them. I would also use some type of air filter on the bike. Its not worth sucking in a rock.

Here is what they sound like with a baffle on some 1-1 pipes I fabbed up.

needle bearing right cam bearing would be a good thing. And fairly easy aswell...

Thank you for the wisdom, if I had less pride I would ask you to explain, I'll PM you the reason for this mod in 24hours from this post.... or I will self-destruct.

Edit:
-- I understand the V-stacks are a matter of jetting and finding the right exhaust to match.
-- Would greatly appreciate any input/advice on the quality of the exhaust product I linked, as well as, feedback on the idea of a air-filter equipped velocity stack setup on a CB200 engine using rebuilt, stock 18mm carbs.
Any recommendations on an exhaust setup that would work with the increased flow Im going to need to accommodate as a result of the stacks?
I was thinking 125main jets, stock pi

no need for pride, we're all equal ;) I've done this mod on my gf's cb200 and the build thread is here:
http://www.dotheton.com/forum/index.php?topic=32298.0

(the bearing mod is on page 2, but please read the whole topic. There's a hydraulic clutch and external oil feed on it as well)

The cb200 has 95 as original jet. I run the 200 with cheap pods on 100 jets. 125 would not be a good idea i guess..

im no jetting-guru so dont take my word on it.. but the mod from 95 to 100 made a HUGE difference. I guess 125 would make to much of a difference - unless you're running a race-cam, bigger valves and 20/22mm carbs

I know I would have to rejet if I went with these mufflers since they are fairly restriction free.. with enough work on the jetting, though, I should be able to get the bike to run strong/reliable with this exhaust and the stock carbs with jet work done, shouldnt I ? This muffler probably sounds great haha

Start with #100 mains. You may need 105 or 110 but I suspect that 98 will be the final answer :-)

Thanks Bro, if I didnt get a response on this thread I was gonna actually PM you since your a guru on this stuff... you suspect I will have to play with the jet needle height ?

We have experimented with different height needle jets but I suspect you are talking about needle clip position. It's possible that you'll have to raise the needle one clip position (ie clip goes down and that moves the needle up). You'll know that when you run it and try a few different settings.

Fortunately those carbs are easy to work on and easy to get to.

Hey Teazer, thanks for the input man.. I got another quick question, thanks for your patience man, haha, your wisdom is much valued, trust me.... With those black shorty mufflers I linked...
for convenience: http://www.dimecitycycles.com/vintage-cafe-racer-caferacer-bobber-brat-chopper-custom-motorcycle-exhaust-parts-12-inch-shorty-muffler-80-03310-sbpc.html

You were saying #98 main jets on my stock from the factory 18mm carbs would probably be the ticket, and that the needle clip may have to be raised a notch to make sure the mid-range is smooth. My real question is, do I need to replace all the jets? And as a rule of thumb for things like this, when you make a change on your intake or exhaust and someone says, "go with #100 mains, or whatever it may be, is it implied that all the jets are going to be replaced, or is it simply the main, and then you tackle the other fuel delivery problems, as it relates to jetting, separately." Ive read the carb theory handbook that is sticky'd on the Engines forum, so this isn't a case of a dbag not wanting to put the work in and piggyback from the ppl who worked for the skill.. Thanks again bro. Cheers!

that sounded sweet. We were going to make some baffles out of copper for our cl open pipes since we have a 20' stalk of 3/4 cu in the back yard. Just need a couple of reducer bushing.

Where did you get that tail light and license plate holder?

we are starting with 105s we have a set of 102s and 98's on stand by. I have read that open cl pipes were 105 with a velocity stack add the filter and they used 102. But I assume it is because they run open throttle all day long? 98's for street riding?
