-All below is from July of 2010

I finally had a chance to detail the bike and take a few new pics. Since last time I posted I added some mini gauges, Braded brake lines, and shorter mufflers. She still needs a little work, but everything is coming along nicely. New tires are next. Let me know what you think.

You can't see it that well in the pic, but i have a sticker of Lucy on the cone filter.

Here is a pic of the gauges. I also polished the tree and used the factory instrument light mounting bracket and wired up some LEDs. It isn’t the cleanest look, but it adds a good contrast.

Re: Little Loud Lucy Update

Thanks guys. I appreciate the support. I'll try to get some riding pics up soon.

Also, I wont to get the Avon road rider tires. Looks like I'm going to need 100/90-18 for the front and either a 110/90-18 or 120/80-18 for the rear. Does anyone have any experience with either of those rear tire sizes? I have heard that the center stand is pointless with the 120/80-18 but I figured I would ask.

Re: Little Loud Lucy Update

Doesn't get much more classic cafe than that. Great job man. Those knee dents are beautiful!

Re: Little Loud Lucy Update

Does that Tach work OK and if so, whereabouts did you get it? I need a replacement for my stock tach.

Re: Little Loud Lucy Update

Thanks for all of the support. I really appreciate it.

As of right now I’m using an LED strip down by the license plate as a brake light. I’m not too happy with it and plan on changing it at some point. I’ll either cut the seat and place it above the rear wheel or I’ll be raising the license plate up by the shock and adding a light there. I just haven’t found one I like yet. I was considering the one Omar’s dirt track sells, but it isn’t exactly the look I’m going for and I figure I can make one for half the price.

In regards to the gauges, I got them from Mikes XS. They look great and seem to be accurate enough/not spot on even though I checked and the ratios are correct. I did have a problem with one of them falling apart on me due to the vibration from the bike. I was able to get it replaced, but I’m not sure I would use these small ones again. They do look good though. Here is a link to the gauges from Mikes XS.

Dime City Cycles sells some too. You may want to look in to theirs as well.

Re: Little Loud Lucy Update

Love it. Looks sick, very nice work.

Took some new photos and added them to the front of the post. Since my last update I have rebuilt the engine, spent all winter polishing all of the aluminum engin covers, added a SL350 cam, put on some Avon tires, pleated my seat, and changed a few other bits here and there. I hope you like it as much as I do because I think the Little Loud Lucy project is complete. I'm having a friend who is a photographer take a few pictures later this week. I'll post them up when I get them.

Looks brilliant mate,

one quick question with your headlight brackets, i bought a set the same and i accidentally placed them on the way you have, once i then mock fitted the headlight and forks to frame the rake made the headlight situp up heaps high and the angle of the brackets didnt flow with the bike so i swapped them over so that they basically sit inline with tank and seat and enabled headlight lower.

Im guessing the brackets are universal and its personal preference on which way to have them ?

just curious thats all.

cheers mate

I have always felt it was personal prefference. i have mine a little higher because of the bar clamps. If the light was lower I think the bars would look to high. I may eventually go with clip ons but for right now I like the light a little higher.

yeah i agree, i think the light looks good high on yours....mine im trying to get it more a flat tracker type look and they seem to have (if for road use) light inline with tank and rear tail...

cheers mate
