Loss of Power

I did not know where to post this question. So I rebuilt my Cl350 motor, it ran great for 3,000 miles, and then all of a sudden it while going 55mph it started in 5th gear it started running sluggish, as if it was running on one cylinder and then it just died. I took it home and began to take it apart. I found that one of the pistons and cylinder where badly worn so I replaced them along with new rings on the other piston. I cleaned out the carbs very good and also the spark plugs, put it all together and road it for a couple of days, now ti is doing the same thing. It has no power in 4th and 5th gear and then just seems like it wants to die. I tested the coils and wires and they are fine, but the wires have slight cracks in them. I replaced the points also. I have been through this bike more than anything and I cant figure it out. Please help

Are the symptoms always present or just when the bike heats up? Is it only 4th and 5th gear or is the problem more dependent on revs than gearing? When was the last time the battery was replaced?

first thing to do is get new plugs, a few sets of them to have for tuning
if your are trying to tune an engine don't use a cleaned sparkplug,use a new one

I replaced the battery. It is more prevalent in 4th and 5th, but now the bike just is really sluggish.
