lost ownership docs

I just bought a CB, transported it with a zip car cargo van and unfortunately forgot the ownership docs inside (including the VIN plate). I must have been too excited or in a rush to return the vehicle that night. Either way, I checked with their lost & found, checked the vehicle a couple days after, it's gone.

Started doing the research of registering it and found great info here. Much respect to those who contribute. I have my affidavit written up and searched the stolen vehicle registry database (for both VINs) while I was at it.

Couple of questions. First, do any of the Service Ontario locations have a Notary on duty that will sign my affidavit for a small fee?

Secondly, I have a different VIN on the frame and different on the engine. I bought it from a hobbyist, so indeed it's a rebuilt and still needs a bit of work for a safety. Now what VIN is the one that counts? I read on an American website that it's the frame VIN and would like to confirm that when furnishing a new title doc.

Any other help in getting this process started would be greatly appreciated. Not sure if I need to take it to a Honda dealer to get a history if none of the VINs produced an online UVIP report.

Thanks in advance!

Wish I could help. I know nothing about Canadian ownership document requirements. If you were in the states I'd tell you to do the VT route.
