After determining the lobes on my ignition advancer were uneven (thus causing uneven point gapping per turn and uneven ignition firing/improper timing) I decided to purchase the best looking (used) advancer I could on ebay and will rebuild the best I can out of both units. I'll mark up each unit and orient both to try and prevent installing the cover 180 degrees off. Other than that, any advice? Just clean up, re-oil, and use the best two looking springs out of the four avail? A little Bearing grease on the inside that fits on the cam shaft end? Anything I could majorly bung up if I'm not careful?
Also - if you've read the above and are thinking "there's no way this is going to solve your issue" or something other, please let me know.
Thanks.
