Been Around the Block
Have a set of Mikuni VM28s round slides on my RD. I was changing the bowl gaskets as one was leaking and after I reinstalled them and hooked everything up, I fired the bike up and redlined so I hit the kill switch. I tried to fire it back up and nothing. pulled the left slide out and noticed it had spun in the carb. Put it back in correctly and it fired up, idled nice and smooth. I cracked the throttle and it stuck then redlined again, so I hit the kill switch again. Pulled the slide back out and it spun again. When I looked into the barrel for the slide I didn't see the guide pin. I looked on the side of the carb and notice the pin had backed out but not fallen out. I pushed it back in, put the carb back together, and rode home with no problems. So, my question would have to be: Do I need to replace the carb or can that pin be repressed into place and sealed?
