Mikuni throttle cable install

Coast to Coast
Hey guys,
I have VM30's on my bike and I just got the Mikuni throttle cable kit from DCC in the mail today. How do I install this thing correctly? Anyone used this specific cable kit? Let me know how you did it. Thanks

I know the cable goes into the tops of the carbs through the little rubber dodad, and that I have to solder the little brass pieces on the end, but where do they connect to or slide in?

Thanks, sorry I am a newb.

I've never done it, but check ebay for cb175 throttle cables. They have the fittings on each end that you need.

Those tiny brass bits are soldered onto the cables and are the end fittings for the slides. The kit is a "universal" fit and will fit all sizes of carbs. That's why you have to decide how long the cables need to be.

Thanks for the input guys,

I figured it out just by staring at the carbs and thinking it through. Throttle is nice and smooth and both pull evenly.

probably too late for this, but what did you end up doing for the throttle end of the cable?
The kit i got came with a little barrel end with a screw in piece however the barb in the that is supposed to help hold the cable in place nearly completely blocks the hole before the threads even bite. The only thing i can think to do is press the whole thing in place but maybe there's a better way?

Hey Jrasm,

Welcome to DTT. If I remember correctly I did shove it through and use the screw. Ill look over my build blog and see if I can remember
