I forgot I never updated what the problem was in the first place. Timing had slipped waaaaaaaaaayyyyy out due to my dumb ass setting the timing, but never completely tightening down the points plate screws. Was firing way late. Points are set and tightened now, and I went ahead and re-checked my valves for good measure. I've decided conversion to electronic ignition timing is next. One less thing to worry about.
