Missing filler lid on '78 cb550 tank, will a '77 cb750 filler lid fit?

Hi, my 1978 cb550 is missing her filler lid, part 375 on this page: http://www.cb550.stevesbikeparts.co.uk/

I found a 1977 cb750 filler lid on fleabay, are those lids interchangeable between those two tanks, or is the 750's lid different for some reason? thanks!

eh..it seems like they're different part #'s...as much as I wanted them to be the same. Well, that's a shame. I can't for the life of me find a cb550 filler lid in the US. I guess I have to babysit ebay and snag one right when it pops up.

Yeah, that's how it goes with a lot of smaller parts for these old bikes. I've been searching for a gas tank rear mount for my 125 for at least two years now and haven't been able to get a hold of one. Did you check to see if the lid matched any other bikes? I'd bet you'd have a better shot looking at 650 parts, I'm under the impression the 550 and 650 are closer relatives than the 550 and 750.
