Re: Modifying my RocCity Seat

why not have just made one custom to begin with ;)

It's cheaper, easier, and takes less time. I'll do one in the future, but at 100 bucks for a roccity one, it's hard to justify the investment in time and materials to make the same thing.

Re: Modifying my RocCity Seat

+1

I've made seats before and it's a lot of work. In my case, it's actually cheaper in the long run to buy, especially from a DTT family member, than to make it on my own.

Re: Modifying my RocCity Seat

Nice. I guess the part where you made the cuts will be under the seat pad so you don't need to have a perfect surface finish there on the end result. Good work.

Re: Modifying my RocCity Seat

Thanks for the comments guys. I added the last couple strips of glass tonight and filled the hole for the fixture. Tomorrow after it's cured I'll trim the front and give it a quick sand and should be tip-top. I fit it up today and it's seamless with the back of the tank.

Anything but. For the money you'd be a fool to make one. Sean does fantastic work. Very high strength to weight ratio, looks like it was vacuum bagged?

Looks like a nice quality seat roccity, really nice work.

Nice job on the modifications too SC, look forward to seeing it on the bike.

+1. Had one on my old cb500, and it was absolute top quality, not to mention a great deal. Id love to make myself a seat at some point but the cost + time compared to getting one from RocCity just isnt worth it when your trying to get a bike done on the quick. Ive recommended his pieces to anyone who will listen.

I hacked up my Roc seat too, ultimately too much so. You did a killer job and it looks great on the bike with that tank!

Any other interesting mods to come we don't see so often?

Wow, nice work! If you had not posted the pics of you doing the work, I would think roc just made it that way! Looks great with that tank! Great work man.
