More cryptic cl 450 problems.

More 450 problems
Was running great. Holding great low revs steady as a rock. Then after a 45 minute run, stopped for a couple of hours..... Got a couple of miles in and she dies at low revs.... Battery seems to be out. Low lights etc. lock her up...
I come back the next day with new battery. Test, a good 12.5-14 going in....rough as hell ride home.jerking some, no power, uneven idling, not Coming down in revs then Dropping.... Again, dies, atypical battery symptoms. Restart an impossibility. Leave the bike again.
This morning gets me three blocks.
Change out existing RadioShack rectifier (100 amp 50 volt)....for another.. Clean sync carbs make sure air leaks are an impossibility.... Charging well at 12-14 but mysteriously there is 12.5-13 going to battery at very low revs ie high idle.
Just took her for a ride.
Started out bunny hopping a little, seemed to be lacking some power, idling erratic. Then after a short 5 minute stretch this goes away. Even idling pretty decent but a wee surge or two here and there..... Oh oh I notice the headlight is weak (fully charged at 13.2 ten minutes prior.... Bam, there goes the battery it seems again.
Back at the garage the battery has been taken right down all in less than ten minutes despite being new and charged. Reading very low
I'm stumped.
One observation I will make is that the performance evened out once the power was sucking, before she died.

I should also mention that after sitting for a moment the battery had just gone back from 4.5-11.5! I turned the lights on and it immediately drained back to 7.5

If you can eat a battery in 10 minutes with the lights on and bike running it sounds like it is not charging at all.

Batteries will recover a surface charge if left to sit after a drain. Once you load them up they will most often drop back down.

I would check for loose connections and google search testing honda twin charging systems, its been typed out plenty.
