Hello,
Another nubie from Norway calling. I finally made the decision to get the bike I’ve been wanting since I got my license back in the 80s; a naked single seat sports bike with clip-on handle bars. Back then I wanted a Harris frame with a big Suzuki 4 and double headlights. Funny thing is when Triumph came out with the T509 in 1997 I got the Daytona…
Anyway, I have decided to go the CB750/900 DOHC route mainly because I can still get a donor bike at a reasonable price. The SOHCs are sold for silly money, even the bad ones. The Idea is to approach the build in a hot rod like fashion: Classic look with upgraded suspension. As for the wheels I’ll probably stick with the comstars as there are a lot of different sizes with similar design to play with.
So I have ordered a tank&seat combo from BCR and I’m looking at a swing arm from Over Racing. Up front I’m thinking about a GSX R USD fork.
My fabricating skills are almost none existing so I’ll have to spend money, but motorbikes are expensive in Norway so nothing new there.
