Motorecyclist
Just like to introduce myself to those on the forum I have not met. Names Al from New Orleans, and I have an unhealthy moto-obsession. I currently ride a first gen Suzuki SV650, with copious amounts of speed holes and other things on it's way to my rendition of a streetfighter. Call it whatever you want, her name is Sgt. Reckless.
These are pictures before her Barber form, other small work has been done.
So far she has just the basics:
Leo Vince High mount exhaust
Modified K&N filter/Stock airbox
Unknown jetting by PO (i know...i know)
Speed holes
KX250 bars/risers
Emgo 5 3/4'' headlight
Headlight shrouds by me
Radiator cover by me
TT Vapor gauges
Misc. aluminium brackets by me
R6 throttle tube (1/4 turn)
Fender elimintated
All unneeded stuff vanquished.
Parts pile:
05 ZX-10 shock AWM
I'm just a motorcycle enthusiast with an eye for what's cool. Don't get me started on a gaudy 'busa road dildo or overly chromed, stretched to un-rideable "chopper". I just happened to stumble (literally....the amount of cool gave me the vapors) into the DTT tent at ace corner (Barber 2012). First bike that got me and I was like "Awww fuggg" was Willow. Pardon me, I havent read the rules on cursing, but holy shit that bike is fuggin awesome. After I spent about a half an hour in about a 50 sq ft area, I saw Kylie's (sp) bike. Of course I wanted to inspect every detail to soak up all the cool oozing off, and after a few minutes, Kylie and others from DTT started bs'ing with Jared and I about the finer points of their builds. I guess they could tell were weren't just normal passers by, as I was literally on my hands and knees, going over every inch of their bikes. He told me about DTT, I gave him a card for Custom Fighters, and we went on our way around the rest of Ace corner.
Anyways, we heard about a get together and were determined to get in and sit down (and party) with the DTT guys. Let me put it this way.... I had the time of my life. I'm hard pressed to find times like that other than the birth of my daughter and what not. The beer and shine flowed like sweet nectar from the super nice titties of Athena. There were guys were doing serious wor; pin striping.....welding and grinding.....hammering my ears drums out to the tune of aluminum seat pan. Very, very cool shit. Hell I even learned exactly how a points ignition works. Not to mention all the incredible enthusiasts. The community is outstanding.
I even said it, fuck it, consider me already registered. I'm there. Which is really the best part. I had such a great time because of the community. Not only from DTT, but all the other great people I've met last weekend. I met a guy who's bike was racing (and winning) in one of the races ( I think it was 500cc bikes). I met a guy with an AWESOME CBX that lives 20 mins from me. Don't worry, I will do everything I can to ride it.
Anyways, this post has gone on long enough. Expect to see me around, I enjoy debate, helping with troubleshooting/ideas, and most of all, cafes.
