You're probably right about rearsets. Not sure. We're going top put them on my buddy's KZ, so I'll see how his bike feels with them.

OK, got the tank today.
Yeah, it's huge, lol. It may actually balance out the huge tail section I have on it now.

So now for some measurements:
Overall length: About 28"
Overall width: About 16" at the front, 12" at the rear
Distance between rear mounts: 5.5" center to center
Distance between front mounts: 4"
Distance from front to rear mounts: 22.5" center to center
Distance from center of front mount to bottom of tank: 5"
Distance from center of front mount to front of tank: 3.5"

If anyone needs any other measurements, just ask!!

Well, as we all know, there are no guarantees in modding a bike. :)
Tank is WAY too big. Neither set of mounts are anywhere close, and even if I were to make it fit, it's physically too big for the rest of the bike, and would look ridiculous. I'm guessing the 1100 frame's backbone is several inches longer, not to mention the overall bike being much wider. Personally, I like the skinny, lane-splitter look of the 450, and don;t want to change that.

So if anybody wants a clean GS1100G tank, I'll make you a deal....... ;D

Dang man that sucks. Have you looked into possibly using a 550 tank like Giselle here:

Either that or hit up thegsresources they might know of a decent swap for ya that wont be too much of a hastle.

I may just go back to hammering some dents in the stocker. I would maybe try a 450E tank, but they're like unicorns.

I'm a member over there on the GSResources, but I tend to get ignored since I have the audacity to modify my bike. ;D

Sadly enough I know the feeling. I asked about a 18" rear wheel once and never had anyone even pay it any attention or be willing to help. Although I did get a bunch of PM's when I thought about a big bore kit on the 750 and not all were well, pleasant. I use it as a last resort.

It's unfortunate, because there is a wealth of information about these bikes over there. But I don't want to be berated for wanting loud exhaust and things like that. You'd think these bikes were priceless artifacts. I just gave up.

Not to thread jack. but I feel ya about GSR. There are a few really cool people I have met on there. Most are on here too!

There really aren't a ton of people who respect anything but a purist rebuild. I got alot of that when I had my xs11 bobber on that site as well. That is why this site is great. So many people willing to help when they have something to contribute. I don't always find the answer I need or want here, but at least people will contribute if they know.

Now back to modding the bike...LOL

As far as DTT goes:

Pretty much anything flies here. While some stuff is frowned upon (ahem.......Firestone tires.....), there is a genuine concern about safety and performance. Also, people have a natural tendency to watch and help with bikes that they own as well. While the Suzuki crowd isn't very large (yet), there are some of us around.

I know it's difficult to see in the daylight, but that headlight is BRIGHT!!
It also doesn't dim at idle. ;D

I'll get some pics after dark tonight.

The wiring behind the headlight is tight, but everything fits. Worst case, you may have to trim the back of the housing down some. It's all plastic, so it should be easy. My only criticism so far is that the lens is plastic, so I'll probably want to invest in some headlight vinyl to protect it.

Like the new bars. Lower than the clubmans, but not uncomfortable for me.

This thing puts out a TON of light. The only drawback is the beam angle isn't all that wide. Really not worse than the stocker, though. The upside is the beam is very strong and you can see by the pics, it will light up whatever it's pointed at. I still have to mess with the angle (it's set a bit too high), but I would highly recommend this headlight. Lowering the angle may improve the beam width down low, I'll let everyone know when I mess with it more. Too damn cold today!! ;D
