The pics above pics were taken this afternoon. I got the bike yesterday (7/11/07) around 5pm with 4 miles on the clock. When I pulled in the garage at 12:30pm I had 120 miles on the bike ;D

The pics below were taken later this evening, And in typical Joe fashion not even 48 hours after I bought it I was tearing into it. I got rid of both chain guards to show off the wicked single sided swingarm, remade the license plate bracket (compare stock to the proteal version), took off all the crappy stickers all over the bike, painted the heat shields black, etc..

I have a open clutch cover and carbon fiber exhaust (wide open) waiting for me at the dealer. I have to put the mandatory 600 miles on the the bike before I can put them on (thus me riding the piss outta this thing). Gonna take it on the midnight ride this weekend, which is a solid 100 miles or so.
Main things I wanns do is ditch the rear "party tray" fender, move/relocate the front turn signals to something smaller and not so cheesy looking, ditch those huge mirrors, ditch the stock fairing, put some clip-on's on the thing, lower the front and rear of the bike as much as I can without buying anything, etc, etc...

I am all about this bike, the noise it makes , the power I won't ever use, etc.. ;D
If you guys haven't rode one, I HIGHLY recommend it...

Re: My new ride....

Nice...I have ridden one of the 650's, really an awesome looking bike....check out this one that was built by a guy in my town....

Re: My new ride....

The more and more I ride the duke the more I am glad I bought it.
Crazy power - killer brakes - sounds wicked - etc.
I cant wait to get my open slip-on's and vented clutch cover on (then it will really sound badass) ;D

I also ordered a LED board for the rear which is a tail light/turn signal combo deal so I can get rid of the stock t.signals and "party tray" rear fender and clean up the bike alittle..

nice bike, except for the seat! ouch, the guy has a square ass or what?! lol!

nice monster proteal!

Re: My new ride....

LOL!!.. Very nice ride!!.. I cant wait to see what UR gonna do to it!!..

Re: My new ride....

The plans call for little things here and their to make it less "factory" looking.
Like ditch the stock mirrors for smaller ones (allready ordered), Ditch the rear turnsignals and fender for a cleaner look (waiting for new tail-light to show up), Get my exhaust and open clutch cover installed (once they arrive), etc..

No major "hacking" is gonna take place, atleast not till winter... ;D

Re: My new ride....

how about ditching the mufflers for shorties, so that it doens hide the wheel, ditch the single light & put duals, slamm that baby..

yea..yeah.!!.. imagine that puppy with 2 Turnouts??!!... and matte black rattle can paint??...That'd be KICK ASS!!

Re: My new ride....

I am not spraypainting my new Ducati guys, sorry ;D
The paint is staying just the way it is. As far as the exhaust goes, I actually dig the look of the 2 on the right side deal.
The exhaust I have coming mounts the same way, but the mufflers themselves are carbon fiver with NO BAFFLES !!
Over the winter I am gonna have the entire system ceramic coated silver for a more uniform look.

The dual headlight is def. something I have been thinking about...

Re: My new ride....

Ca MOn Joe!!.. Turnouts.. you know you wanna!!.. ;D.
better yet, 1 BIG ASS turnout from a TRUCK..!!

yeah, that's what I keep telling myself too

Re: My new ride....

Nice bike ! you guys and your Exotic bikes and German cars...I am so envious...

Re: My new ride....

Well, I got a phonecall from the dealer saying my exhaust should be in next week.
So I can finally bring the bike in for it's 600 mile service (just a tad shy of 300 miles over), and get the pipes/ecu/open air filter box installed.

I cant wait to hear this thing with no baffles ;D

go to www.motowheels.com and sign up. You get a little further discount and the people are quite nice to deal with. They carry quite a bit of goodies like NCR, Rizoma, Nichols, huge selection of performance parts for Ducatis. I have ordered quite a bit from them before: a kickstand bypass (made by evoluzione, very easy to install), early on fan switch, Rizoma breather and a license plate relocator.

Thanks for the heads up and the link.
I am still new to sourcing parts for this thing, and every bit of $$$ I can save the better ;D

Here's the latest pics of the new scoot. I ditched the stock fairing up front, ditched the mirrors for a 2'' CRG bar end, and bought a open clutch cover off my buddy for $20 ! Today I broke out the sawzall and chopped off 5'' of the rear section to install my "plate chop" kit. Also got an intergrated LED board for the tail light, which does run/stop/& turn functions all in one (pretty sweet eh ?)

Compare how the bike looked stock --->

To it's current look ---->

Next on the list is to get my exhaust kit (comes in this week), and take it to the dealer for it's first service. Their they are gonna install the exhaust/Race ECU and filter, lowering link, get rid of the emissions crap, and so on. I have new turn signals coming for the front (super small LED deals), and once I figure out what Clip-on's I want I will order those as well...

I have had it three weeks, have over 1000 miles on it, and it finally starting to look good !
