Man I need $500 and a pickup... CB 350 is calling my name... on the other side of the Island.
Either that or $1000 and a half hour out of my day for a 750... damn I hate bein a poor student.
Wow, that 550 is a thing of beauty!
What did you do to the gas tank? Do you repaint it, if so, what colour? Looks great.
The number on the sidecovers is a classy touch too. You wouldn't know a good place to look for a right side cover do you?
The 550's tank was stripped to bare metal (I did it and traded to Noel for an orange one like yours that he was going to rattle-can black). Just a paint stripping wheel from Crappy Tire on a drill and about 30 minutes. He clearcoated the tank with limited success to keep rust to a minimum. I suggested just carrying some sandpaper around
yep indeed... however, the 2 cans of clear coat seem to be holding up. When I put my spare cb750f tank on it, I'll be stripping out (peeling off), the clear coat, highgloss and buffing the metal out (again), but this time using hardwood floor, highgloss varish on the tank..mabe it will be as nice as Tim's Alloy tank...probably not
I might have a spare rightside cover, (I have 3 covers that I've repaired in a box), but it wont be that orange to match your tank!!
Those covers are getting more difficult to get.

N,
I would love to buy a right side cover if you have one. I have a broken left side that I plan to repair. And no worries about the paint - I knew it was a lost cause - I had already planned to paint it matt black ..... and then I saw yours and that clinched it!
