I've always been a gearhead, but just recently started into motorcycles. I passed the MSF course a couple weeks ago, and picked up a couple bikes this weekend. One is in decent shape, while the other is a parts bike of the same year/model. I pulled them both out of the same barn. The better of the two has been sitting for 10-12 years. i changed the oil, replaced the battery, reinstalled the exhaust, and sorted out an electrical issue and she fired right up. It still needs plenty of work, but I'm pretty encouraged by the way it runs after sitting. Both bikes were owned by a family member, and I had only seen them in passing. I thought for sure they'd both be pretty rough, so I had pretty big plans for change. After pulling into the light, however, the tank is faded, but only has a couple small dents and the inside is nice and clean. The original exhaust is present, including all the heat shields. The original seat is still on it and only has one very small tear/puncture on the front right corner. The wheels look great, all the original switchgear is in order except an inoperable headlamp switch. All other lights and blinkers function exactly as they should. Seeing how solid this one is, I don't know that I'll be changing much. I've been eyeballing some pieces on the parts bike that I should have switched over in the next couple days. There are some aftermarket goodies I'm planning on still, but changes will be pretty minimal. Enough rambling, here are some pics!
