Need a CB400F ignition switch

I'd like to replace the gauges on my 1975 Honda CB400F and get rid of the OEM ignition switch and indicator lights. I'd also like to relocate the ignition switch elsewhere.

Does anyone know of a good aftermarket ignition switch? And where have other people relocated the switch to?

Thanks!

You should be able to bolt up the ignition switch and housing from a CB350F -- it mounts under the tank, using the same hardware as the horn. It's mostly hidden from view -- but Honda moved the switches to the triple tree because people were burning their hands on the pipes. I've got bikes with the lower switches and I've never burned myself...

Can you explain this a bit more? The 400F and 350F have different plugs, so I assume I would need to modify the 350 switch to work on my bike, which I'd rather not do... I was hoping for an aftermarket option.

Can't remember the difference in connectors, but that's not that big of a thing. If you want to get something and make sure it's the same connector, you might be getting another CB400f ignition. What I'm not sure of is if the ignition switch from a 400f would fit on the mount for the 350F. Maybe look up some photos. I'm guessing it's different, though.

Have a look at marine ignition switches. Pretty generic - but more water / corrosion proof than other types.
